Technical
Library and Documentation Center:
This is one of the best libraries attached to
a state engineering college in the country. It has over
70000 volumes in stock and subscribes to over 175 international
and national periodicals.
Center for Applied and Fundamental Research:
This center caters to faculty research development.
The Center has an Advisory Committee which meets once
or twice a year and approves the project proposals submitted
by the faculty members. Monitoring of the progress of
the research projects is also done by the above committee.
Many useful projects have been undertaken and completed
by the faculty through the center.
QIP Center:
The Center for Quality Improvement Programme
in the college is involved in the conduct of short term
courses for the benefit of staff members of engineering
colleges in the state, curriculum development, preparation
of Monographs and the conduct of remedi al courses for
the weaker sections of the students. Most of the academic
matters of the undergraduate students are handled by
this center.
Center for Water Resources Management:
The center undertakes research and consulting
projects in the field of hydrology and water resource
management. It also provides ample facility for post-graduate
and under-graduate students to conduct field studies
as part of curriculum development. Wave energy studies
constitutes another major interest of this center.
Regional Housing Development Center:
Started in 1977, this center aims at
popularising cost effective techniques and alternate
materials for constructions in the building industry
through exhibition, training and actual construction.
It has succeeded in creating an awareness of the cost
effe ctive techniques among the beneficiaries in the
state.
